Fulfilling a long-held dream with the successful launch of the stud’s first annual bull sale in September 2020, Ian Bates, principal of Riddellvue Angus, is pleased to be opening the gates for stud’s second on-property bull sale, and first annual autumn event on Wednesday 10th March.
Located in the rolling valleys of Alexandra, Victoria, 35 HBR/ABR Angus bulls will go under the hammer from 1pm with the sale fully interfaced on AuctionsPlus for those interested but unable to attend on sale day.
Breeding great cattle that perform has always been a passion of Mr Bates with the Bates’s family successfully running Angus herds at the original Riddellvue family farm in Buxton, more recently as stud manager for eight years at Anvil Angus, and now with the new incarnation of the Riddellvue brand.
Producing phenotypically correct Angus cattle with bred-in predictability and animals who stand up well in the harshest conditions is the mainstay of Riddellvue Angus’ breeding principles.
The sale catalogue line-up of the 25 -18 month and 10 – 12 month young bulls on offer will suit a range of commercial breeders requirements and feature sons from Riddellvue’s own leading stud sires along with sons of renowned sires, Te Mania Melfin VTMM759, Bannaby Reality ECMK63 and Morago Mandate HNUM14.
“As a seedstock producer it’s also a real buzz when your own progeny is putting bulls into the top line up of your sale”, added Mr Bates.
The Riddellvue foundation herd carries the depth of Anvil Angus bloodlines with influences of Strathewen, Coolana and Witherswood genetic pools; along with leading US and Australian sires that deliver genetic depth and substance to the Riddellvue breeding programs.
